Well even without, you could always find a way to hack it (miopocket is the easiest). I find it strange that your unit already came with iGo, could it be some guy unlock, install iGo on this unit and return it?ĭid you unlock or did it come with iGo? Is it the version with TEXT TO SPEECH for street names? or just says turn right in 100 meters without the street name? If it has igo8 with text to speech for street names, this is a great deal. I ordered one and hope I can install miopocket on it. Overall, I am satisfied with this purchase for 50$. It is also not very accurate, sometimes it will tell you "in 100m turn left" while you are actually at the turn already, but I think if you are careful it is still usable. It is very quick to obtain a fix while in the car (even at night, contrary to some reviews I read), but doesn't work inside buildings (unless you put it close to the window). The GPS receiver itself is not the best one out there, but from my experience it works ok. It has mini-USB so I used my cell phone cable to connect it to the PC and charge it. After several landings on the floor of my car, the mini usb jack was damaged and my GPS could not be charged or powered externally. My unit came without any accessories in a white box, essentially just the GPS, the holder and a car adapter. If you plug your GPS in and set it on the passenger seat of your car or ask your passenger to hold on to it.

Well, it's not with Snoop Dogg voice, but it gets the job done. There is also turn-by-turn voice navigation in English, French and Spanish. You can find on-line European/South American maps if you are going on a vacation and planning on renting a car. It comes with US/Canada maps, the newest ones from what I can tell. I was planning to load Garmin/TomTom on it but it already comes with the latest iGo and I think it is really nice.
